This article outlines how to use bLoyal gift cards with Clover POS. For more information about the POS snippets or how to use the bLoyal buttons to complete specific actions, please see this article.
Please note: In order to use bLoyal gift cards at the POS, you must have the Loyalty Suite by bLoyal app set up and installed in Clover. In addition, due to restrictions from Clover, gift cards must be in barcode format for scanning. It should also be possible to type in the gift card numbers when prompted.
LOADING/RELOADING A GIFT CARD
To sell gift cards at the POS, you should have a gift card item in your Clover inventory. You may have several gift card items with fixed prices (e.g. $10 Gift Card, $25 Gift Card, etc.) or you may have one gift card item with a variable price.
To sell a new gift card or to reload an existing gift card, add your gift card item to your Clover order.
When you click the Pay button, the screen below will automatically launch (after the Clover Loyalty Summary screen).
You will need to enter the gift card number. Depending on your configuration, you may also be able to swipe or scan the gift card, which will automatically populate the gift card number field. When you are finished, click the Submit button.
You can now continue the order as you normally would.
Once the order has been completed, you will see a Gift Card Balance Credit Summary.
PAY USING A BLOYAL GIFT CARD
If you would like to pay using a bLoyal gift card, you will begin the transaction as your normally would. When you reach the payment screen, you will click the bLoyal Gift Card button.
The bLoyal Check Balance screen will appear. Enter the bLoyal gift card number. Depending on your configuration, you may also be able to swipe or scan the gift card, which will automatically populate the gift card number field. When you are finished, click the Check Balance button.
You will now be able to see the total amount owed and the available gift card balance. Enter the amount you would like to pay using the gift card and click the Apply button.
You will be notified if the payment was successful, and will be able to continue the transaction as you normally would.
