In this forum article, you are going to learn where and how to create new users. User accounts are required in order to provide login access to your bLoyal Director account and to control their permission/access levels. For example, users can be provided with access to all of your Director areas or limited to accessing only some areas. Users can also be restricted from performing certain tasks, such as editing customer information, adjusting loyalty, or processing payments.
To begin, in Director go to Setup > Settings Tab > Click Users Accounts
Complete the top section personal information section, the minimum required fields are First Name, Last Name, Email, Username, and Password.
Order Processing section: Only complete if you are using order processing in bLoyal. By default, all users have all permissions, check the boxes next to any restrictions you want to place on the user.
Web Service & Data Feed Access: Skip this section unless you are setting this user up to do web API development for you.
Account Option - Abilities: Each option here should be reviewed. There are several key flags here which you may want to set, such as the ability to send email.
Account Options - Preferences & Viewing/Editing Entities can typically be skipped (user can edit these defaults later if they prefer).
This section is required. In "Reply To" enter the email address for this user from which email will be sent and to which any "replies" should go (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org
). Also enter your company name into the "Friendly Name" field, as you would like your customers to see it.
Director Access: Select the areas you want the user to be able to access. If you select the primary check box for each module, the sections will automatically be selected and you can deselect just the ones you do not want. Note that in the Director Access area titled "Setup" there is a check box titled "Account" which must be checked if you want this user to be able to create/delete users or edit their permissions.
Click the Save/Close
at the top to save the user information.
