We at bLoyal are excited to announce our new integration with SimpleTexting! SimpleTexting is a great—and you guessed it—simple platform to leverage for SMS communications with your customers. One of the features we support is automatic publishing of any customer list type (Customer List, Subscriber Group, Loyalty Program, etc.) as a contact list in SimpleTexting. To do so, you may simply enable the following option within the list, group, or loyalty program:
It will be the Mobile field in customer records as well as First Name and Last Name that will sync to SimpleTexting. If cell phone numbers were entered into the Phone field instead, you will need to migrate the data to the Mobile phone fields. A customer import would be the easiest way to accomplish this.
How to Export Customers
First, you may export the customers within your customer list or subscriber group by clicking the ID of the list or group and going to the Select Customers tab. Make sure that All Customers is unchecked and click Search. You'll then see all the Member checkboxes indicating the members of the list or group:
For loyalty programs, simply go to the Members tab.
Next, click the green Excel export icon indicated above by the red arrow. Choose the All Pages option and click Export. When complete, click the blue link: Click here to download and view data.
Rename the Phone Field
To prepare the data for re-importing the Phone numbers into the Mobile fields, use the Data from Text wizard in Excel or another spreadsheet application, ensuring the account number column is set to Text type. This is to ensure account numbers with leading zeroes are left fully intact since these are ordinarily stripped out in Excel automatically unless the fields are set as Text. Please refer to the documentation of your spreadsheet application for more information on this procedure.
If you want to move the number to Mobile: Duplicate the Phone column. Rename the duplicate column's header to Mobile. Delete all the fields under the original Phone heading. This will effectively clear out the Phone fields in the customer records and move them to the Mobile fields instead.
If you want to copy the number to Mobile: Simply rename Phone to Mobile.
Next, delete all other columns besides AccountNumber and Mobile (also keep your Phone column if you are keeping the same numbers as Phone also). Save a copy of your file as a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file for importing.
How to Import Customers
Follow the data import instructions guide and make sure to choose the Customers type of import. Import your CSV file.
