Welcome emails can be created in several areas of Director for different purposes. You can create a welcome email when a customer joins a subscriber group such as a loyalty program or email list, when a customer joins a club or when a customer visit is recorded as well as an sending an email when a product is purchased.
Enabling
The process of enabling your welcome email depends on whether it is for a club, subscriber group, or loyalty program although it is fairly similar for each.
Club
First, navigate to Loyalty - Clubs and click the ID of the club which you would like to enable a welcome email. On the ensuing screen, check the boxes for each type of new club member origination that you would like to receive a welcome email, shown in the red box below.
Subscriber Group
Navigate to Customers - Subscriber groups and then click the ID of the subscriber group which you would like to enable a welcome email. On the ensuing screen, check the boxes for each type of new club member origination that you would like to receive a welcome email, shown in the red box below.
Loyalty Program
Navigate to Loyalty - Membership Programs and click the ID of the loyalty program which you would like to enable a welcome email. Check the box for "Send Welcome Email to new members" (red arrow below).
Composing
In each of the screenshots in the enabling section, you'll notice a "Welcome Email" tab on the left side. Click that to compose the welcome email for each subscriber group, loyalty program, or club. The composition screen will look like the screenshot below.
These emails are all created in basically the same way, using our built in HTML editor or in come cases importing your own HTML design. Each email will require a subject line and body content.

Note that while testing, in addition to using the "Send Sample" button referenced in that article, it's a good idea to try joining yourself to the club / group / program as another method of testing.
Checking Welcome Emails Sent
You may browse to the Responses tab within the group, club, or loyalty program to check on welcome emails that were sent through that group, club, or loyalty program. You may also browse to Mailings => E-Mails Sent in Director and filter by the Welcome email type to view all welcome emails sent in general.
