Director Control Library Installation

The bLoyal Director Control Library enables file transfers between your computer and Director. This article outlines how to get it installed on a machine for the first time. Please note that installation requires that you be an administrator on your machine.

While many places don't require the Director Control Library to be installed you do need it to upload images for email campaigns, newsletters,etc. and for using the Bulk Product Image Upload Tool.

The first time you attempt to do a file transfer in Director on any given computer, you will see a prompt asking if you would like to install the Director Control Library, as seen below.

Answering yes will bring up the following screen at the bottom of your browser window.

Click run and you'll be brought to the Director Control Library installation.

Clicking next will bring you to the following screen wherein you can choose where you would like to install the library and if you would like to allow access to it to everyone who uses the computer or just you. Clicking next will bring you to the final step of the installation.

Here you'll simply confirm that you would like to install the program. Upon clicking next, you'll see a progress bar as it installs and be prompted whether you want to allow it to make changes to your computer. This is a standard program installation prompt and you can safely say yes. If you encounter an error during this step, it is likely due to the fact that you are not an administrator on the computer.

Finally, after installation has been completed, simply go back to director and retry your file transfer. If your installation was successful, you'll see a screen like the one below allowing you to navigate to the file of your choice.
