Sometimes when editing an existing item in Directory, you may encounter an error stating, "Code is Missing". This article explains the origin of this message and how to resolve it.
At one point in our development cycle, a code field was added to many items in Director. The reason for the addition was to help maintain data integrity and reporting. If an item existed in your system prior to this change and you attempt to edit it, the aforementioned error will appear.
To resolve the error, simply enter a code of your choice in the code field and then save. Below is an example of a missing code for a loyalty club. The code can be any one word length entry of your choice. A best practice would be to make it applicable to the item it belongs to. In the below example of the "Estate Sampler" club, a possible code choice might be ESCLUB.
